Wish You Well Chapter Summary

"TEACHING" The Prophet by Gibran Khalil Gibran

And a teacher said, Speak to us of Teaching. And he said: No one can teach you anything except what we already dozing nell'albeggiare of your knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple among the disciples bestowed his wisdom but rather of his faith and his love. And if it really is wise does not bid you to enter the home of his knowledge, guides you to the threshold of your mind. The astronomer can tell what he knows of space, but can not give you his knowledge. The musician may sing the melody in the air, but can not give you the ear which determines the rhythm, nor refers the echo sound. And he who is versed in the science of numbers can describe the world of weight and measure, but can not lead well. For the vision of one man lends not its wings to another man. And even as each is only the knowledge of God, must also know God in solitude and understand the earth.
